Casey BrownCasey Brown, MA is a doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at the University of California at Berkeley who is providing cognitive behavioral therapy at the Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Science Center for problems with mood, anxiety, and interpersonal difficulties, working under the supervision of Jacqueline B. Persons, Ph.D.

Ms. Brown received her undergraduate degree in cognitive science and psychology from the University of Virginia in 2011, and then served as the Project Coordinator of the Virginia Affective Neuroscience Laboratory under the direction of James Coan, Ph.D. at the University of Virginia. Ms. Brown received her Masters degree in clinical psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, and currently works with Robert Levenson, Ph.D. in the Berkeley Psychophysiology Laboratory. Ms. Brown has published numerous peer- reviewed research articles and has presented her research on emotion and social relationships at several scientific conferences. She is a recipient of the National Institute of Mental Health Affective Science Pre-Doctoral Training Grant. She received the Association for Psychological Science Junior Scientist Award, and was awarded a National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowship Honorable Mention. Ms. Brown has 10 years of experience working with clinical populations, and four years of experience conducting individual psychotherapy, including one year of experience providing cognitive behavioral therapy that was supervised by Dr. Persons. At the Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Science Center, Ms. Brown will provide individual cognitive behavioral therapy to adults with mood and anxiety disorders at a fee of $120 per therapy session, and will ask her patients for consent to provide data during the treatment process that can contribute to research.
